Top Defenders from the Texas GASO
Nate Goodlow 2020 Team Griffin Guard
Goodlow put constant pressure on his opponents playing the one and two for Griffin. The intensity Goodlow brings with his on-ball defense makes him stand out quickly. Goodlow is quickly rising up the charts in the Oklahoma 2020 Class.
Patrick Garrett 2019 Game Changer Hoops Wing
Garrett is turning into quite the defensive talent on the Wing. He used his length and athleticism to sneak up and block multiple shots this weekend in Dallas. Garrett is one of the fastest rising prospects in the Oklahoma 2019 Class with lots of NCAA Division II interest.
Austin Fenton 2020 Oklahoma Impact Post
Fenton is a good Post player that can step out to the perimeter to hit shots. He can shoot over people and make contested shots. On the defensive end, he is a constant presence in the paint. He forces his opponents to shoot around him. He has the fundamentals down but his team struggles to get him the ball. When he gets the ball though he is efficient with it. Fenton is an interesting prospect that will be fun to watch develop.
Alfred Alkannama 2019 Servants Guard
Alkannama is a high-pressure defender. He gets in the chest of his opponent and forces turnovers. On the other end of the court, he is a solid shooter. He can spot up and hit shot from the perimeter or drive to the bucket to finish. He is comfortable on the ball and gets the Servants into their offense.
Christian Cook 2020 Team Buddy Buckets Wing
Cook is an athletic Wing that is confident from deep. He can play in the paint or step out to the perimeter. He has good size that allows him to see over his opponent and find the open players. Cook will be an interesting player to keep an eye on for the future. He plays good defense and forces a lot of turnovers with his active hands.
Michael Hall 2019 PlayMaker Express Post
Hall is a solid rim protector. He is the type of big that a coach wants. He protects the lane with his size. His opponents do not want to go at him because he blocks shots and is not afraid of a little contact. He does not try to do too much on the offensive end because his game is still a little raw. He has some solid post move that if he keeps working with them could be lethal. He rebounds the ball well using his body and his size to pull down the boards.
Braden Haddock 2020 Tulsa Hawks Forward
Haddock took a page from his older brother Brooks and took a step behind the arc. The result was great. He got his team back into a game where they were down 15 because of his shot. He showed confidence as he stretched the court. Once he showed he could knock down the three consistently, his opponents stepped on him. He then showed he could put the ball on the court and drive. He can finish at the rim through contact. Haddock also has a hustle aspect to his game. His hustle gets him boards. He is active down low on the defensive end and gets a handful of blocks a game.
