The Basketball Interview: Lynn Greer
Lynn Greer, a class of 2020 PG playing for Team Final, will be transferring from Roman Catholic (PA) to Oak Hill Academy (VA). The 6-foot-3 rising junior, who is considered one of the nation’s top lead guard prospects, spoke with Prep Hoops during Session Four of Nike’s Elite Youth Basketball League for the basketball interview.
PH: Talk about sophomore year at Roman Catholic, winning the Philly Catholic League. What type of accomplishment is that for you on the court?
LG: “That was a huge accomplishment. That was my goal since freshman year, but I came up short cause I got injured in the semis. But coming into this past season we had a chip on our shoulder, and we only lost four games. I’m just blessed to have won the title.”
PH: What do you think is the most improved part of your game since I last saw you at the Gonzaga Classic?
LG: “I think I’ve worked on everything. My tempo, speed. I also think my athleticism has improved.”
PH: What initiated your move to Oak Hill? What do you think that will do for you as a player?
LG: “I just wanted to be on the biggest stage possible. My dad and Cory Alexander are very cool. I went up there to visit. It seemed like a real friendly environment. Everybody down there is like family. Coach Smith, he’s a legendary coach, and I’d just love to be coached by him.”
PH: What type of role do you anticipate having at Oak Hill?
LG: “I think I will probably play the one and the two. Scoring, passing, everything. Mainly just playing the right way because we’re going to have a lot of good players.”
PH: What are your plans for next month? Will you be at any camps?
LG: “I know I’ll be at the Nike Elite 100, and the NBPA Top 100 camp.”
PH: What can fans of Oak Hill expect from you?
LG: “Well they can expect a lot from just our team period. But from me, a floor general. Amazing passing skills, and scoring.”
