The Basketball Interview: Chase Paar
Chase Paar, a class of 2019 power forward out of Glenelg Country School, has seen his recruitment expand significantly this spring with Team Thrill. Prep Hoops recently spoke with the emerging front court prospect for the basketball interview.
PH: What is the biggest improvement in your overall game over the last year or so?
CP: “I’ve improved my conditioning a lot. I’ve lost about 30 lbs since last spring and I’m able to play faster and run the floor better.”
PH: What are you working on now? Have you set any goals?
CP: “Right now I’m working on getting stronger and more explosive around the rim. I feel that’s the area of my game I need the most work on.”
PH: Who is recruiting you hardest?
CP: “I’m not sure who’s recruiting me the hardest, but I have offers from Towson, IUPUI, Coastal Carolina, UMass, Quinnipiac, St. Bonaventure, Hofstra, and UMBC.”
PH: What do schools tell you they like about you?
CP: “They like how hard I play, that I’m mobile, and am able to run the floor well. They also like that I’m skilled around the basket as well as on the perimeter.”
PH: Is there anything underrated about your overall game?
CP: “My passing and court vision as well as my ability to shoot the 3.”
PH: What is your timetable for a decision/visits?
CP: “I have not scheduled any visits yet, but plan on visiting schools in June. My decision will probably be made in the fall or early winter.”
PH: What can you bring to a college program?
CP: “I’m gonna play hard every game. I have a high basketball IQ, and I can play multiple positions.”
