The Basketball Interview: Bol Akot
Bol Akot, a class of 2020 PG playing for the DC Blue Devils (NH), is one of the top young lead guard prospects from New England. Prep Hoops had the opportunity to speak with him recently for the Basketball Interview.
PH: For those that haven’t seen you play, describe your game
BA: “My game is fast and crafty. I can get to the basket whenever, create for teammates, and my midrange game is strong.”
PH: What is the most improved aspect of your game in the last 12 months? What‘s the biggest thing you learned over the course of the HS season?
BA: “The biggest thing I’ve learned was being a leader. More vocally, and because a I’m smarter point guard, making the right plays.”
PH: What’s one thing you do on the court that most people probably don’t see?
BA: “I am supportive to all teammates, and I talk on defense.”
PH: What part of your game do you need to work on next?
BA: “My jump shot definitely. I am in the process of changing it now. I just have to get used to it.”
PH: Who is recruiting you hardest right now?
BA: “Rutgers, St. Bonnie’s. Recently got an offer from UMass Lowell. Others too, but my coach would know that.”
PH: What are spring and summer your goals?
BA: “Expand my game to another level. Be in the ESPN rankings. Make my name known in the country.”
PH: What do you think u think you can bring to a college program?
BA: “I am a well coached player, and I don’t just look to score the ball. I can get all my teammates involved.”
