Few months in young hoopers’ lives matter more than April-July 17u weekends. College coaches get two April weekends and three July weeks to evaluate any prospects. Of course they use almost every single allowable second viewing 17u AAU programs. Because the coaches need to fill their upcoming class first the 17u demands the evaluations.
Tennessee’s Class of 2019 was already very strong with James Wiseman leading the way. With a sprinkling of reclassed 2018’s joining the top tier our state’s 17u teams only hopped higher.
Three shoe deal programs belong in the top three spots after strong Aprils. A single central Tennessee sharply branded program leapfrogged two other shoe deal teams while making a case to climb even higher.
Remember AAU team rankings are fluid and future results will undoubtedly shake up the ranks.
