Super Team Showcase Sunday Standouts
BOWIE, MD — Some good talent was on display this weekend at the DMVelite Super Team Showcase. It’s time to take a look back at what we saw. Here we recap the two-day event with a closer look at ten standouts from Sunday.
’20 JARED CROSS | 16U DISTRICT BASKETBALL CLUB
Jared Cross was a huge reason why his team won both of their games on Sunday. The versatile wing not only scored it well from the perimeter and inside, but consistently rebounded out of his area.
’20 MARCUS DOCKERY | 16U DC PREMIER
Marcus Dockery controlled the game on both ends of the floor in his team’s win. The smooth lefty operated efficiently out of the pick and roll, knocked down jumpers from long range, and defended with tenacity.
’19 JASON GIBSON | 17U TEAM TAKEOVER ORANGE
Jason Gibson pumped in a game high 23 points in his team’s win, showcasing his full offensive arsenal from all three levels. We would like to see him continue to work on limiting turnovers for the next step in his development as a point guard.
’19 ISAIAH GROSS | 17U DISTRICT BASKETBALL CLUB
6-foot-4 wing Isaiah Gross worked hard and did whatever his team needed in their win on Sunday. We saw him knock down some perimeter jumpers, and he dove on the floor numerous times to win 50/50 balls.
’20 JOSIAH HARDY | 16U DISTRICT BASKETBALL CLUB
6-foot-5 forward Josiah Hardy averaged a team-high 12.5 rebounds per game on Sunday. Given his current skill set, mobility, and impressive motor, we think his ceiling is tremendous.
’20 WADE JACKSON | 16U DISTRICT BASKETBALL CLUB
Wade Jackson was productive in a number of areas for his team on Sunday. The versatile guard rebounded well, scored efficiently, and showed that he can create for others.
’21 AUSTIN SMITH | 15U MID ATLANTIC SELECT
Austin Smith was one of the top offensive performers we saw on Sunday. The lefty, who is looking more and more like a knock down shooter from three, scored 20 in his team’s win.
’20 MICHAEL SUMNER JR. | 16U DC PREMIER
Along with Dockery, Michael Sumner carried the offensive load for DC Premier in their win over District 16’s. The high IQ guard out of St. Mary’s Ryken distributed the ball efficiently to his teammates while also staying aggressive both offensively and defensively.
