Spring Standouts: Part 2

With all the talent from Michigan on display during AAU season, a Spring Standouts Part 2 was inevitable. Let’s take a look at some more players who have stood out amongst the competition during travel basketball season.

Carlos Johnson (2020, F, The Family)

Johnson continues to show that he’s an elite layer on a national scale. He’s a bulldog of a player:  Stronger and grittier then his competition. Even playing up at 17u, he’s playing at an elite level.

Isaiah Jackson (2020, F, The Family)

Jackson has shown this spring that he’s a special combination of size, skills, and athleticism. He is playing up at 17u, and is still able to rise above the competition.

Reece Hazelton (2020, G/F, Northern Exposure 16u)

Hazelton is continuing his great play from high school season. He’s an efficient player who can score from multiple levels. He is an excellent shooter from anywhere on the court.

Wendell Green Jr. (2020, PG, Michigan Playmakers)

Green Jr. is playing up at 17u, and is still usually the most dynamic player on the floor. In the NY2LA he’s 2nd in points per game and 3rd in steals per game.

Legend Geeter (2021, Wing, M2K Elite)

Geeter continues to prove that he’s an elite player in Michigan’s class of 2021. He’s excelled as a pass first wing who creates matchup nightmares for opposing coaches.

Donovan Freeman (2019, G, M2K Elite)

Freeman is a game changer in many different ways. He excels as a scorer, defender, and passer.

Dan Few (2019, C, M2K Elite)

Few has shown this spring that he’s one of the most talented bigs in Michigan. All spring he has rebounded and blocked shots at a high level.

Nigel Colvin (2019, G, M2K Elite)

Colvin has been an elite defender who’s proven he has the ability to get buckets as well. Colvin is a fast rising prospect.

Edward Colbert III (2019, Wing, M2K Elite)

Colbert is a high level athlete. He shows up on both ends, playing tough defense and creating looks at the basket.

Derrick Bryant (2019, G, MWA Elite 17u)

Bryant is off to a nice start this spring. He is a fast guard with quick feet who can hunt shots.

Andre Bradford (2019, PG, MWA Elite 17u)

Bradford is an explosive player. He’s a dynamic lead guard who can get buckets.

Charles Anderson (2019, CG, MWA Elite 17u)

Anderson is a strong and physical guard. He has a high basketball IQ and can outmuscle most guards.

Jaden Akins (2021, G, The Family)

Akins has had a huge spring. He’s been an elite finisher off the drive and has shown the ability to pull up for a jumper.
