Showcase Preview: Oregon High Academic Exposure Camp
On Friday, March 25, the first annual Oregon High Academic Exposure Showcase will be held at Lewis & Clark College in Portland. Created by Chase Young (founder of Seattle Select), Brant Minor (founder of MaxHoops Exposure Camps), and James Johnson (Hoop Salem Director), the showcase will give many preps a chance to be seen and evaluated by many of the top college coaches in the Northwest.
Coaches from colleges and universities from the NWC and SIAC are expected to be in attendance at the showcase.
Some of the top Oregon high school basketball players expected to attend include:
RJ Veliz (2019 Blanchet Catholic HS)
Veliz is currently ranked as the #9 player in the PrepHoops Class of 2019 rankings. He is a scoring point guard who has excelled this spring with Hoop Salem 17U. Is currently receiving interest from the NCAA Division I/II/III levels.
Will Reese (2019 Sunset HS)
Reese is currently ranked as the #33 player in the PrepHoops Class of 2019 rankings. He is an athletic post player who at 6-foot-7 can also face up and score off the dribble.
Boston Smith (2019 McNary HS)
Smith is currently ranked as the #44 player in PrepHoops Class of 2019 rankings. He is a solid big man with good footwork.
Jett Sheng (2020 Catlin Gabel HS)
Brennan DeGarmo (2020 North Eugene HS)
Sheng and DeGarmo are a couple of promising point guard prospects. Sheng played the spring with the Rose City Rebels 16U squad.
