Recruiting Update: Bo Quinlan (2018 Southridge HS)
Moving up to play at a higher level can be a challenge, but Bo Quinlan was up to it as a senior. After excelling at the 2A level at Life Christian, the athletic 6-foot-3, 185-pound guard made the move to 6A Southridge in 2017-18 and fit right in. Currently unsigned, he’s suiting up on the AAU circuit while staying open to anything and everything that comes his way.
It can be tricky to bring in a player of Quinlan’s caliber to an experienced group the Skyhawks were last season, but it went well. “Overall the season was good as my teammates were good about integrating me in,” Quinlan said. “I would have liked to have been better down the stretch in some games, but overall I thought I shot the ball well.”
Quinlan played both guard spots with Southridge, helping lead the Skyhawks to the state tournament and a fourth place finish. Since last season a number of colleges have shown interest in signing him on, but Quinlan is still looking.
“Right now, anything goes,” Quinlan said. “I’m just looking for a good fit. I’m looking at things like the coaching staff, the location, and the players.”
A possible move for Quinlan is to reclassify to 2019 and attend prep school, specifically Hillcrest Prep in Arizona. It’s where older brother (and future Montana State Bobcat) Zeke played, so he’s familiar with the program. “It’s definitely an option,” Quinlan said. “I’ve seen what they do with their guys. I’ve been down there and the coaches know me, so if that’s my future then I’d be really excited.”
In the meantime, Quinlan will continue playing with Oregon Basketball Club the rest of this spring and summer. PrepHoops Oregon will be sure to follow his progress.
