Recruiting Report: Zeke Nnaji (2019)
Hopkins forward Zeke Nnaji has moved from a top 200 guy to a top 50 player getting elite level offers. The latest? Arizona. Nnaji talked recently about the schools showing him the most interest.
Zeke said the following about several schools:
Iowa: “I went to a couple of their games, and I like their style of play. Tyler Cook was a great post player and they threw it to him a lot, so I like how they play.”
Wisconsin: “Wisconsin has always developed big men for the next level, and I think that they could really help me with that as well.”
Minnesota: “They have a lot of talent, and they had a lot of injuries this past year. I like how they push the ball in transition, and how they get stops on defense.”
Xavier: “We (Ben Johnson of Xavier) have a really close relationship. He has always been recruiting me, and the message has been they want me a lot and they think they can help me get to the next level.”
UCLA: “All of their coaches have been in contact with me and they want me to visit. They are telling me that I would like the warm weather, so I am looking forward to making a visit.”
Others: “The schools that haven’t offered me are Kansas and Louisville (but are showing interest). I have offers from Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Xavier, UCLA, Illinois, Northwestern, Texas Tech, and Arizona.”
Nnaji has also been invited to the USA Basketball tryouts in June which will hurt his chances to take visits but give him a rare opportunity.
“I was going to do a lot of visits in June, but I got invited to the USA team, so I have postponed my visits until August, and I plan to make a decision around the start of my senior season,” Zeke said.
