Recruiting Report: Lance Jones (2019)
Evanston 2019 shooting guard Lance Jones is coming off a strong junior campaign where he helped lead his team to the state’s final four in 4A. The athletic guard can really score the basketball from multiple levels and even displayed some combo guard skills as the season progressed. We caught up with Jones to chat about his season at Evanston!
“The season was great. I feel we had a lot of doubters and we proved them wrong. We played as a team and made it downstate.”
Where did his game improve the most?
“Attacking the rim and I feel I improved on my mid-range jump shot.”
He spoke about the attributes that he feels he can bring to a college program.
“Being a leader and playing defense both on and off the ball. I feel my leadership has grown over the years too.”
Where do things stand with recruiting?
“Recruiting is going good. A lot of coaches have been staying in contact. Fresno State and Colorado State. I am just taking the process slow.”
Jones holds a handful of offers at this stage.
“SIU, UAB, Western Illinois, Illinois State, and UW-Milwaukee.”
Any programs really making him feel like a priority?
“Definitely UAB. They are showing a lot of love and I like their coaches.”
