Recruiting Report: Kameron Battle (2019)
Oswego East 2019 forward Kameron Battle stands at 6’6” and is the son of former Illini standout Kenny Battle. Excellent rebounder with an explosive second jump. Battle shines as an offensive rebounder with put backs. High points rebounds on both ends of the floor with his springy legs. Flashes a little perimeter skill. We look forward to following his development throughout the spring and summer with Team Rose 17U.
Battle talked about his junior season which was a breakout for him and a pair of teammates.
“We got on the map this year me, Ray J Dennis, and Sam Schultz. We lost in the regional championship, but next year should be better. I played good this year. I averaged 12 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 blocks.”
How would he describe his game?
“I am bouncy and can get a lot of rebounds. Block shots. I can drive to the basket and I like to dunk on people.”
What is going on with recruiting?
“I got an offer from UIC last year during the summer. A lot of the in-state schools are talking to me too.”
He has a personal relationship with the UIC coaching staff.
“They saw me play last summer and they offered me. The new assistant coach Dee Brown I know him because my dad knows him.”
This is a prospect we are interested in following this spring and summer.
