Julian is scoring 13.5 points per game for the New Heights 16u team that has had some good moments this spring. Champagnie is a 6-foot-7 talent that screams potential after a strong year at Bishop Loughlin over the winter.
“My team at Bishop Loughlin went well this winter, due to a gym issue we where not able to workout as much, but I’m staying in the gym four times a week now to improve my game,” Julian said. “I am not full developed yet, I have plenty of things to work on especially my strength. I did see improvements in my game as far as my ball handling and IQ.”
And now this spring Julian is seeing those improvements rewarded. He’s also made the decision to move to the 2020 class so he can be fully developed when he moves to the next level.
“My family and I have come to agreement to do and post grad and go to the class of 2020,” Julian told Prep Hoops. “So we are playing for New Heights this spring and summer. Coach Frazier has done a wonderful job with us so far. Our team could be really special, we are a committed group to staying in the gym and making our team a brotherhood.”
In addition to the Cincinnati offer Julian is also hearing from Saint Louis, Santa Clara, Fordham, UMass, Quinnipiac, Monmouth, Dayton, Richmond, and Pepperdine are others that Julian has mentioned as interested.
“I have a few colleges that’s have expressed offers and interest, my main focus is to keep developing and hitting my books hard to become the greatest student athlete.”
Julian Champagnie, know that name. It’s one that seems likely to hit the national level real soon. The UAA results so far have been quite encouraging.
