Recruiting Report: Allen Plunkett (2019)
The class of 2019 is a very deep class overall but one of the deepest and best positions is the wings. There are a ton of them and they all have a variety of skill sets. One of those that has already picked up his first offer is that of South Putnam (IN) wing Allen Plunkett.
The 6’5 prospect is having a good summer with Indiana Faith 2019 and he’s really starting to come around with his ability and improving his production. Plunkett is know more for him inside-out game where he’s a very good rebounder and post scorer. Does most of his work faced up and has the ability to stretch the floor a little.
This summer, he’s shown a little more ability to stretch the floor and shoot from distance. He just looks more comfortable making plays along the wing than he did a year ago. If he continues to develop a better perimeter jumper, he has the case to make that he can be a guy that produces at a high level on the offensive side of the ball as well as the post and on defense.
Earlier this Spring, Plunkett picked up his first offer from DII Ubrana out of Ohio. That is a solid start with quite a long list of suitors also in the mix. Allen says schools like Wabash, Bethel, Cincinnati Christian, Worchester, Army, Saint Francis, Chicago, and DePauw are all involved.
He said he plans to take a visit to Wabash this May and likely a visit to Bethel in June. As one of the more interesting developments to watch this summer, he still has some upside to tap into and if he does, he already has a laundry list of schools that could join his offer list.
