Recruiting Report: Alex Timmerman (2019)
Crystal Lake 2019 center Alex Timmerman is in the best shape of his career. The 6’8” post looks like a different person having lost a ton of weight and being much more mobile on the interior. Skilled back to the basket post that has improved his mobility. Not going to wow you vertically as an athlete, but this D2 prospect should be productive at that level.
Timmerman spoke about his junior season.
“It went pretty good. We were pretty young with most of us being juniors. We had some learning curves, but towards the end we started putting it together and winning some games. We will start five seniors next year as we will all be back.”
Like mentioned above Timmerman is in the best shape of his career. He chatted with us about that process.
“Everyone has been telling me you have the skills, but where you play will depend on what you do with your body. I said it was time. Got a trainer and I have been lifting and running. Really the biggest thing was changing my diet. That was what helped me lose the weight.”
The big man broke down his game and what he feels his strengths are as a prospect.
“I am big on the block. I am skilled. I can finish down low, but also can step out and shoot.”
Where do things stand with recruiting?
“I am talking to a lot of Ivy League and Patriot League schools. Lafayette, Brown, Dartmouth, Elon, Holy Cross, and Miami (OH).”
Timmerman runs with Fundamental U 17U on the circuit.
