Prep Hoops Series — Kansas City: Stock Risers (Wings)1
LAWRENCE, Kan. — Prep Hoops Kansas takes a look at several wings who raised their profile throughout the weekend at the Prep Hoops Series in Kansas City.
20-Garrett Alejos, 6’3, G, 2021, Blue Valley North, Mokan
A lanky wing who handles the ball well. Alejos brings good size and athleticism to the floor. His talent is on full display during transition plays, something that stems from defensive stops on the other side. He’s also quick to find his rhythm from behind the 3-point line. He moves well off the ball and can get his shot off quickly in front of defenders.
30 — Eli Dowis, 6’3, G, 2019, Maryville, KC Pacers
An athletic wing player, Dowis is a versatile defender, runs the floor exceptionally well and can play above the rim in transition. Also a football standout at Maryville, Dowis brings toughness and intensity to the court. He gets a lot of easy baskets in transition as he beats opponents down the floor and is skilled enough to make plays off the bounce in the half court.
10-Jevaughn Ferguson, 6’6, F, 2019, Sunrise, Mokan Select 17U
A hard-nosed defender who protects the basket and gets rebound after rebound. Ferguson is a physical big who can handle contact and make sure he sends some out himself. He has good hands and solid footwork in the paint. He moves well off the ball and can fight his way in front of defenders and make baskets over them.
13 — TJ Fritz, 6’3, G, Wamego, SSA Elite
A standout perimeter shooter, Fritz is a long, rangy 6’3 wing player who plays bigger than his listed height due to his length and athleticism. A left hander, Fritz is an improving ball handler who is capable of attacking the basket and getting to the free throw line.
30 — Dyelan Reed, 6’4, G/F, 2019, Concordia, SSA Elite Black
Reed is a versatile, inside-out performer with a strong, athletic frame and the ability to play multiple spots on the floor. Reed can handle the ball a little and make outside shots, but can also take his game into the paint and finish around the basket.
