Prep Hoops Series- Kansas City: 17U Standouts under 6’0
Height is not an indicator of heart or talent. These guys get the job done and stand 6’0 or under.
Zack Thretheway (2019)- Team Unity 17U
Zack exploded this weekend for a breakout game, racking up 28 points for Team Unity. Don’t let the 5’10” listing fool you, he uses his quickness to get into the paint and can shoot the ball at a very high level.
Zack uses the glass well which gives him a lot of options once he gets into the teeth of the defense.
Aaron Hamilton (2019)- SSA Elite White 17U
Aaron is a motored up PG who is a real asset for SSA in transition where he showed sound decision-making and great poise with the ball in his hand.
He was also good in the halfcourt where he penetrated the defense and opened up opportunities for his teammates.
Koriyon Carr (2018)- Kansas Hoggs 17U
The Neosho CC commit almost single handedly kept the Hoggs close against Mokan Select 17U in the semi-final game. He sliced into the defense and made plays in the paint with 11 first half points.
He was also effective down the stretch of the game, getting timely buckets in the paint but it wasn’t enough to will the Hoggs to victory.
Trey Bates (2019)- Mokan Select 17U
Trey had a solid weekend, playing his role on the Mokan 17U squad. He knifed through the defense for a transition layup, showcasing his smooth style and ability.
Trey also has great vision, able to make the right read as the defense converges on him in the halfcourt.
Savian Edwards (2019)- SSA Elite Black 17U
Savian is a dangerous prospect with shooters around him and he has just that with SSA Elite. He is coming off his best weekend of the spring facilitating and breaking defenders down off the dribble.
He’s only 5’10” but lightning fast and can get into places larger guards can’t. He’s a sleeper that continues to improve and has an opportunity to get some attention from small college coaches if he continues his upward trend.
