Pangos Spring Live: Next Up
Cerritos, Ca. — The last live viewing period of the spring commenced last weekend with two events in Southern California and a bunch more across the nation.
The Pangos Spring Live event held at Cerritos College allowed us to get a closer look at some of the best young talent in the area.
We’ve already taken a look at many of the top freshmen performers from the event, so in this piece we highlight the top current eighth graders/freshmen-to-be, all of them coming by the new club on the block, Team Why Not.
Team Why Not center Henri Adiassa showed some natural big man tools.Henri Adiassa, Team Why Not 15s
Adiassa is still a raw overall prospect, but his size, end-to-end mobility and strong hands all make for a prospect with good long-term upside. The 6-foot-10 center showed a good approach to the game and stayed true to his position for most of the time we evaluated him. Adiassa operated in the paint, crashing the offensive and defensive boards, drew double teams and passed out of them instead of forcing something that wasn’t there.
Skyy Clark, Team Why Not 15s
Clark has a really nice overall feel for the game. The 6-foot combo guard played mostly on the ball and understands how to work screen-roll action, especially when getting downhill and into the paint to put pressure on the defense. Clark is a streaky 3-point shooter at this point, but had moments where he knocked in three in a row.
Dimitrius Dudley, Team Why Not 15s
Dudley has sprouted up beyond the 6-foot threshold since the last time we saw him. He’s also gotten much longer and more athletic, which is an important development for his skill set. Dudley can play on the ball where he can initiate offense and get to the basket on straight-line drives or he can play off of it due to his ability to cut and move without the ball. Dudley’s next step is to become a more consistent 3-point shooting threat.
Brendan Terry, Team Why Not 15s
Terry has a frame, strength and motor well-beyond his class. At 6-feet-5 and a solid 185 pounds, the brother of Crossroads forward Ben Terry is super active on both ends of the floor, rebounds well in and out of his space and never misses an opportunity to rim run and finish in transition or pick up his teammates misses and create second chance opportunities.
Cameron Thrower, Team Why Not 15s
Thrower has nice size, length and fluidity for a class of 2022 prospect at 6-3. Thrower is of the shooting guard and wing mold at this point in his development due to his ability to stretch the floor with a catch-and-shoot 3-point shot. The next step for him is to become more confident with his handle and more explosive with his first step.
