Offers Start Coming For Nau
It’s been a long wait, but Brookfield Central 2019 point guard Cole Nau finally has his first scholarship offers.
Earlier this month, Air Force became the first school to pull the trigger on the high-IQ floor general, who’s picking up a mixture of additional Division 1 and 2 interest.
“It was great feeling,” Nau told Prep Hoops Wisconsin. “Getting the first offer was an awesome validation of the hard work I’ve put in.
“They liked my game and thought I’d be a good fit there.”
As a junior, Nau helped lead Brookfield Central to a 19-5 overall record and a conference title in the Greater Metro. He averaged 14.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game.
Nau also recently received a Division 2 offer from Hillsdale, who’s cleaned up in Wisconsin as of late and is slated to have four Badger State natives on its roster next season.
“They are a smaller school in Michigan,” Nau said. “The campus is really nice and the academics are very strong there.”
Holy Cross, Cornell, Wright State, and Brown are also interested in Nau, as well as a handful of D2 programs, going into the summer. Nau could attend the Holy Cross camp in June, but doesn’t have any future visits scheduled.
The 6-foot-3, 170-pound junior said making a decision before his senior season would “be ideal.”
“(I’m looking at) style of play, how the players and coaches are, culture of the team, and academics,” Nau said when asked about the key factors in his decision.
