#NHRState : The top 50 2019s participating
There is going to be college coaches from D3, NAIA, and the local junior college levels watching this weekend very closely (plus the others following along from home). Who are 50 guys they will be watching? We list them and break it down now. ***This is a list of Minnesota 2019s in the event (no players listed from others states or from younger classes).
#1. Tommy Chatman of TC Pirates (Park Center). The smooth, skilled guard will likely be the top playmaker with the ball in his hands all weekend. When it comes to playmaking Tommy will be the most dangerous guy on the floor.
#2 Carter Henry of TC Pirates (BOLD). Carter has a lot he wants to accomplish this summer and this weekend at state he will be the most explosive finisher and likely shot blocker competing in the event.
#3 Malik Willingham of Select Leafblad (Waseca). The most explosive scorer competing this weekend? That’s Malik. A guy that did amazing things at Waseca this year and has the ability to put together big scoring games for Select.
#4 Jake Kettner of D1 MN Rise (MN Valley Lutheran). The Class A All State player has produced in big numbers as consistently as anyone this spring plus he ranks with the best when it comes to clutch plays late in games. Jake is on the verge of being a scholarship guy.
#5 Jeremy Beckler of Heat Henderson (White Bear Lake). Beckler has been injured and based on the last time we saw him, the ankle may not be healed enough to play. That said, Beckler is one of the top 8-9 frontcourt prospects in the state so he deserves a spot here in case he plays.
#6 Jared Rainey of Heat Nelson (Maple Grove). When it comes to guys having great springs few can match what Mr. Rainey has done. He’s carried the momentum from state right into being an explosive playmaker at guard for the Heat, a top ten team.
#7 Cade Goggleye of Comets K (North Woods). At the moment Cade is hurting and we don’t expect him back from the ankle injury. That said, Cade is the type of player that deserves mention as his ability to create with a dribble and change games with the jumper ranks with the best.
#8 Karsten Broadley of TC Pirates (Fosston). Broadley is a D2 offered player that has shot the ball very well for the Pirates every game we’ve seen him play each time. Good size at forward too so he could play a couple spots.
#9 Khari Broadway of TC Pirates (Park Center). Broadway has been one of the better names in this class for a long time and a huge summer awaits him. Khari has been a double figure average scorer for PC for a couple seasons now.
#10 Sam Schwartz of Heat MacDonald (White Bear Lake). Sam is the perfect example of a guy that is skilled and versatile that NSIC’s are thinking may work as a partial guy, NAIA’s are curious if he is interested, and the MIAC loves him.
#11 Jenson Beachy of Comets DLR (Perham). Jenson has been doing this successfully for so long that few can match his amount of wins nor the points scored at Perham.
#12 Josh Jeziorski of Comets DLR (Perham). With good size, skill, and agility as a forward that can play a couple, this weekend Josh is a player people will watch close.
#13 Camden Arndt of Comets DLR (Morris Area). One of the most skilled players with size that you will see this weekend. Good athlete with strength.
#14 Noah Chamberlain of Heat MacDonald (St. Thomas). Noah is a skilled player with size that has boosted his stock as much as any this spring.
#15 Michael Ziermann of Comets K (Lester Prairie). A skilled guard that knows how to score in traffic, Michael finds the angle and produces for numbers.
#16 Brad Winter of Select Leafbald (Winona). One of the surprises of the spring so far Brad is an up and coming player out of the Big Nine.
#17 DeVonne Harris of Comets K (Big Lake). Harris is the guy that scares many the most, a big that will play big time football in college who just bangs on guys and boards.
#18 Marcus Shepley of Mentality MN (Burnsville). Skilled, long, and agile, Marcus is a guy that gets to the bucket and creates before defenses can rotate.
#19 Jackson Jangula of Comets K (St. Cloud Cathedral). Another guy that has had an outstanding spring, Jangula has been a trusted handler/playmaker
#20 Jon Stimler of Comets DLR(Princeton). The Tigers won a lot of games with Stimler scoring a lot of points and grabbing a ton of boards this winter.
#21 Tyler Baribeau of Heat Nelson (Mesabi East). Tyler is a high percentage producer game by game.
#22 Carter Hansen of SW Minnesota Stars (RTR). Remember the tough guy from RTR at state? That’s Carter!
#23 Nick Schaefer of Comets K (St. Cloud Cathedral). One of the most dangerous shooters in the event this weekend.
#24 Adam Williams of Heat MacDonald (Princeton). Another one of the top shooters this weekend.
#25 Matt Onken of SW Minnesota Stars (Marshall). A grinder of a big who plays tough.
#26 Carson Becicka of Heat Nelson (Mesabi East). Tough lead guard that will battle all game.
#27 Ricky Eason of Heat Nelson (Centennial). This event has shooters and Eason is another.
#28 Drew Gustafson of Comets K (Kimball Area). A guy that played outstanding at the Proving Grounds.
#29 Dominik Block of Comets DLR (Park of Cottage Grove). This will be a great stage for Block to see what his talent level is.
#30 Reegan Nelson of Crossfire Belle (Melrose). The Dutchmen playmaker and Crossfire common leader.
#31 Jake Weber of Select Leafblad (Pine Island). Tough scoring wing.
