The second live period has come to a close and coaches are back at the respective schools, we are back at home, and prospects are fielding calls from those interested in them from their play.  Today, we take a look back and see who played well and who some new names are from this weekend. This is a breakdown of the best centers that I saw on the weekend from the Spring Classic and UA Midwest Showcase.

Ben Wight | 6’8 C | NOVA Village | Thomas Worthington (OH)

Wight is a highly skilled post who can score the ball at a high clip. He has a really nice post jumper and is as tough as they come. He’s thin but makes up for that with his skill. Wight is a scholarship player who at a lower level will dominate with his scoring and athleticism.

Cole Brady | 6’8 C | Indiana Elite Metro | Carmel (IN)

Brady played a pretty solid overall game. He isn’t ever going to excel at any one thing with his game, but he will always be a guy that you can put down low and trust to grab boards and score a little. He’s getting tougher and I think a D3 team will love to mold him into a really good center.

Ryan Segall | 6’10 C | G3 Grind | Homeschool Warriors (IN)

Segall is a big bodied center who knows how to use it well and make space down low. He is a guy who rebounds the ball really well and can score at the rim. Segall isn’t really going to score the ball all that much but is able to score a bit down low on the block. He’s only bee playing for a few years so once he gets comfortable he will be really dangerous.

Malik Lamin | 6’11 C | Grassroots Sizzle | Delasalle (MN)

Lamin is a big man who knows how to score the ball. He is a little on the heavy side and once he loses a bit of weight will be really dangerous. He makes space for himself throwing around that weight and he moves well with out the ball looking for passes. A quality big who a D2 team would love to have.

Aidan Igiehon | 6’10 C | Team Rio | Lawrence Woodmere Academy (NJ)

Igiehon is a guy who is super strong with the ball and is tough to stop on offense. Once he gets going at the rim there is no stopping him. He loves to attack the basket and throw down some thunderous dunks. Needs to work on his rebounding a bit as a couple got away from him but a very solid prospect who is a high major talent with his offense.
