Josh Level Classic Preview: Part 1
The Josh Level Classic is an event that has been going on a few years now that honors the Legacy of a young man who was respected on and off the court. Next Saturday in Greensboro at Dudley HS, some of the top players in the state will take the floor in this matchup that should be an absolute show, Games are set to begin at 7pm with the proceeds going to the Josh Level Classic Charity, if you’re in the make sure you stop in and support this great time. Alright so let’s a glance at some of the players that will be in attendance and what we can expect to see:
Coby White: The Greenfield School Guard doesn’t need much of an introduction, he’s the All-Time leading scorer in the state in points and is headed to UNC. Regardless of what type of game it is, he is looking to compete and win, so you should expect for him to take this game pretty seriously.
John Newman: He’s headed to Clemson University this fall and should be a player that makes an impact early on. His ability to knock down the midrange jump shot as well as defend at a high level are things that make him special and should translate to the next level fairly smoothly.
Greg Gantt: One of the top stock risers in the country, Gantt has now shown everyone the talent and potential that he has to be special. He’s 6’6-6’7 with a versatility about him that you have to be impressed with, scoring, assist, rebounding, defending and blocking shots are all things he can bring to the table.
Daivien Williamson: We got a chance to see him in the Triad All-Star Game, where he put on a show for the fans. So we won’t be surprised if we see him do the same thing in this game, he has a silky smooth game with a high amount of moves as well as a nice ability to score the ball.
Ian Steere: If you see him coming down the lane in this game, then your best bet will probably be to move right on out the way. He throws down rim rattling dunks offensively and on the defensive end of the floor he uses the same defense to protect the rim.
Elijah McCadden: We were first introduced to Elijah some years back as he was still a young, raw prospect. Over time he has developed nicely and is a player that the folks at Georgia Southern should be very excited about getting, he’s long athletic and keeps a mature demeanor about everything no matter the situation.
