Jet Jam: Standouts
The Enka Jet High School basketball travel team, The Enka Basketball Club hosted the Jet Jam at Veritas Christian Academy in Fletcher, North Carolina over the weekend. Here is a look at some of the standouts.
Jake Smith6’1, 2019 PG Jake Smith-Strong off the dribble, finishes well, can draw fouls, a skilled floor general who is always looking for the easy assist or can get to the rim at will. Has a strong handle with the ball in his hands, great motor, doesn’t make mistakes and gives his all every time I have seen him play. He is getting some interest from Mars Hill College as of late.
5’10, 2019 G Lake McIntosh-A nice little DII-DIII guard that can shoot it. He has a textbook shot and can make shots out past the three-point line consistently.
6’3, 2019 F Drew Raper-Long, good size at the high school level for is position, runs the floor well and does a good job of finishing at the basket.
6’3, 2020 F Micah Wilson-A shooter with smooth jump-shot, good finisher in traffic, strong defender with a good build. Should be a recruit to watch for at the DII-DIII level.
6’3, 2019 F Breylan Owens-Two-sport standout at Brevard High School that is very athletic with a college ready body. Nice form on his jump-shot, can play at the rim, does a good job of getting into the paint. Strong rebounding ability.
6’4, 2021 G Nathan Ledford-Hustle is the name of his game and compliments it with a nice shooting touch. He gets his hands in passing lanes and causes deflections that lead to turnovers and easy baskets. He did not have his shot falling at his normal rate today but made up for it with hustle plays and doing the little things to help his team win.
6’3, 2019 F Caden Norris-The Brevard High School small forward is known for his shooting ability and can make some shots from well outside of the three-point line. He has good size at his position and should translate well to the DIII level.
