Jergens Explodes At Run-N-Slam
Dylan Jergens (2019, G, Howardsville Christian/Strictly Skills) has always been an extremely talented basketball player. Somehow he’s managed to fly a bit under the radar. This spring fans, players, and college coaches are really taking notice of the wealth of talent and potential that Jergens holds. At the Run-N-Slam in Ft. Wayne last weekend, he had one of the most impressive performances of any player at the event.
Jergens and his Strictly Skills team squared off in their first game against the Ohio Hoopsters. He had 54 points that game. Even more impressive is that he did it while shooting at a high percentage. Jergens shot 18-28 from the floor, including 12 threes. He also shot 6-8 from the line. Jergens didn’t stop there, as he also had 7 assists.
In Strictly Skills and Dylan Jergens second game, they faced Breakaway Ind. Jergens had 24 points on 8-18 shooting with three 3-pointers. He shot 5-5 from the free throw line in this matchup. Jergens once again showed that his game isn’t one dimensional as he racked up 8 assists.
In game three for Strictly Skills, they matched up with Team Teague. Dylan Jergens had another big game with 23 points on 8-16 shooting from the field. He had 7 assists and three 3-pointers. Jergens also shot 4-4 from the free throw line.
The fourth game for Jergens and his Strictly Skills squad was against the West MI Lakers. He scored 14 points on 5-16 shooting. Jergens also had 8 assists and 1 three pointer.
In four games at the Run-N-Slam, Dylan Jergens put up staggering numbers. He averaged 28.8ppg on 39-78 shooting. Jergens also averaged 7.75apg. Throughout the weekend at Run-N-Slam, he showed the ability to shoot off the catch and off the dribble. Jergens was efficient with the ball in his hands and showed the ability to recognize good looks at the basket. His performance at Run-N-Slam has immediately garnered him significant interest from Division 2 and NAIA programs.
