Jayhawk Invitational: Top Shooters
A look at some of the top shooters at last weekend’s at the Jayhawk
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — Prep Hoops Kansas takes a look at some of the top shooters at last weekend’s Jayhawk Invitational in Kansas City.
3-Zachary Genilo, 6’5, F/G, 2019, St Thomas Aquinas, Spurs
A tall forward who can work his way both inside and out. He has a soft touch to his shot and got the bounce more often than not. If he doesn’t have the look, he uses his body to get a quick bump to create space. You can’t count this kid out. He’s also confident defending anyone on the floor and can force turnovers when opponents make their way into the paint.
0-Jace Lance, 6’1, G, 2020, Marshall, KC Team Rush
Lance isn’t afraid to put his head down and get to the basket. He’s strong, athletic, listens to his coach and makes the necessary adjustments to get open looks. He moves well off the ball and can create for himself when he has it as well. Kid just works harder than the competition.
6-Jaden McGrath, 5’11, 2020, Independence, Pray N Play
McGrath is a 3-point wizard who can look impossible to stop when everything is going his way. He has a quick release that can catch people looking. He also plays strong defense on the perimeter against players who have a few inches on him.
