Great Smokies Shootout Preview
The Basketball of the Carolinas’ organization puts together some of the top events in the state for teams that have local players. This week, the stop is in Hickory, North Carolina for the Great Smokies Shootout held in and around Hickory. Here is a look at the teams scheduled to play and some of the top players that will be in attendance.

Top Players
Ren Dyer-One of the most athletic players in the Western part of the state, Dyer is a 6-foot-4 guard/small forward that can jump out of the gym, plays hard and is a player that can make baskets.
Brandon Aumiller-The junior guard out of Mountain Heritage HS is a physical, skilled, athletic guard that is able to score from multiple spots on the floor; he is able to get to the rim and score and can get out in transition for easy baskets.
Justus Shelton-The 6’10 big man also out of Mountain Heritage HS is a skilled big man with a soft touch around the rim. He is able to step out and knock down the mid0range jump-shot which can spread the defense and open things up on the inside.
Caden Norris-One of the top shooters in WNC, Norris has an ability to fill it up from the outside and can finish in the paint. Norris plays out of Brevard HS in Brevard, NC.
Nate Ledford-Another Mountain Heritage HS player, Ledford is one of those guys that just does a lot of things really well. He is a good shooter from outside, has the size to grab rebounds, block shots, and get buckets. He is a player that has a high motor and will outwork anyone.
