The 16th Annual Pangos All American Camp will be held this weekend at Cerritos College in Norwalk, CA. The famous Pangos AA camp has always featured some of the top national high school prospects and it is a showcase for the nationally known sleepers out there. Pangos alumni feature guys such as Brandon Jennings, Bradley Beal, John Wall, James Harden, Stanley Johnson, Aaron Gordon, Marcus Paige, Andre Drummond, Trae Young, Trevon Duval, and more. This summer five Georgia prospects have been invited and will get a chance to showcase their talents as we take a break from the national AAU scene. Charles Smith IV, Sharife Cooper, Isaac Okoro, Anthony Edwards, and Brandon Boston have all received invites to make there way to the Pangos All American Camp.
2019 shooting guard Charles Smith IV – Game Elite (GA) – McEachern High School
The rising senior Charles Smith IV has had a decent spring session so far after his recent move to Atlanta from La Lumiere (IN) and enrolling in at McEachern High School. Charles has just recently commited to the University of Cal Berkley. He will be making his second consecutive trip to the Pangos AA Camp as last summer he stood out pretty well making the top 20 list in this same event. Charles has also transitioned from Nike EYBL’s Athlete’s of Tomorrow to Adidas Gauntlet’s Game Elite squad and who he will be running with for this summer’s July live period. Smith is an excellent wing player and can spread the defense with his perimeter shooting. He is also one of the best on ball defenders we have in the class of 2019.
2020 point guard Sharife Cooper – AOT (GA) – McEachern High School
Sharife Cooper has burst his way onto the EYBL scene and has been almost dominating his opponents. The 6’1 point guard will be making his first, and possibly not last, trip to Pangos. As him only being a sophomore for now, it is very possible, the way Sharife is playing, that he will be taking two summer trips to California. No Cooper is not nationally ranked yet on the ESPN listings but that can change very soon. Sharife has led his AOT squad to an overall 13-3 record in this year’s Nike EYBL, which ranks 3rd going into Peach Jam in mid-July. Cooper has put the nation on notice with his tremondous play. He is a high major floor leader who can create plays, get his teammates involved, and now has been characterized as a certified scorer. Sharife has had a incredible spring and will look to showcase his talents at not only Pangos, but the Nike Elite 100 Camp (St. Louis, MO) and the NBA Top 100 Camp (Charlottesville, VA).
2019 forward Isaac Okoro – AOT (GA) – McEachern High School
Georgia’s next possible McDonald’s All American Isaac Okoro will be headed to the Pangos All American Camp as well as his running teammate Sharife Cooper. Like Cooper, Isaac has also been the reason AOT has had success this spring. Okoro has received multiple offers this spring that includes Vanderbilt, Texas, Oregon, Cincinnati, and Seton Hall. He is a big bodied and strong forward who does not seem to be afraid of the physical play. His vicious dunks and finishes on opponents have just been one of the few attributes talent evaluators and scouts have noticed. He is 6’5 with a terrific body frame and basketball body at the next level. Isaac will be going into to his final year in high school pretty soon and will be looking for, not only a Peach Jam title, but a state championship as well. Isaac has also received invites to the USA Basketball training camp and NBA Top 100 Camp.
2020 shooting guard Anthony Edwards – Atlanta Express (GA) – Holy Spirit School
Anthony Edwards has quietly risen his recruiting and his stock since the beginning of his sophomore season. After a good sophomore year with Holy Spirit, he has jumped right into AAU season looking to dominate his competition. Anthony has received his Pangos AA Camp invitation due to his outstanding play in the Under Armour Association. He currently is the fourth leading scorer, averaging 21.0 points per game. Edwards is coming off a fantastic weekend in the Atlanta Memorial Day Classic where he led Atlanta Express to the 17U title and finishing with a thrilling 30 point outing. He is a pure scoring guard and with a manimal type body. He is the most efficient when on offense due to the array of ways he can score the ball. Expect Anthony to be a standout this weekend at the Pangos AA Camp.
2020 wing/guard Brandon Boston – AOT (GA) – Norcross High School
Yes, Georgia’s Nike EYBL Athletes of Tomorrow will be sending three players to the Pangos AA Camp, not sure if that is a record but it certainly makes sense due to the fact these three (Boston, Cooper, and Okoro) have been making statements on the 17U circuit. Mr. Brandon Boston has had a great spring in his 17U debut. Brandon is coming off a great weekend in Virginia where he averaged 18 points per game. He has been showing off his skills this AAU season and has already had multiple head to head matchups with other prospects in his class. Like Sharife, this may not be Brandon’s only trip to Pangos as he is only a sophomore. His outstanding shooting from three point range has excelled over the last couple of months and which make him a perimeter threat all game long while he is on the floor. Brandon is an amazing floor runner and slasher in the half court game. He is one of those rare players that we have witnessed that can drop 20+ without having the ball in his hands as much. Boston has amazing upside and will look to contiune to push his recruiting in the July live period.
