First Impressions: 2020 Players
Prep Hoops is looking to do its new UPDATED rankings next week for the 2020 class. Lets take a look at some players that will be making a debut in the rankings. Prep Hoops is your source for all the latest basketball recruiting news in the Palmetto State.
Ahmad Brown – Ashley Ridge HS – TMP 16U
Brown was a surprise when we saw him back in April at Big Shots Columbia. Brown averaged 5 ppg and 4 rebounds last season for the Swamp Foxes. Look for those numbers to double this coming season. Brown is a quick leaper and really gets active in the passing lanes.
Samuel Gray – Wade Hampton HS (Hampton)
Gray a left-handed point guard plays for his father at Wade Hampton HS. Gray has a bit of a set shot but can really attack the basket when given the opportunity. Gray saw the floor very well and at times was a bit too passive to my liking. Gray doesn’t play on the AAU circuit according to his father.
Devin Bristow – McBee HS
Bristow we had a chance to season during the regular season for the Panthers. Bristow 6’6 is a virtual unknown throughout the Palmetto State. Bristow still has a chance to keep growing and doesn’t play on the AAU circuit to our knowledge with anyone. Bristow has good length and a baby face.
Dorian Miles – Eastside HS (Taylors) – Upward Stars Upstate Silver 16 (pictured on front)
Miles 6’5 undersized post plays with his back to the basket in the paint. Miles doesn’t mind setting screens on the floor. Miles works for position in the paint and plays below the rim.
Sincere Wilmore – Great Falls HS – Carolina Pressure 16U
Wilmore was a pleasant surprise at the recent Prep Hoops Series 3 in Myrtle Beach. Wilmore just 5’7 knocked down several shots from behind the 3 point line. Wilmore was a heady player and didn’t mind taking a charge on the floor.
