Fayetteville NC NTBA Tourney Standouts
We got the chance to drop in to Fayetteville Academy on Saturday to check out some local teams and talent. Although many of these teams have players that you may not have heard of before, there were some youngsters that stood out and even a few players that could be a nice pickup on a college roster. So lets take a look at some of the players that stood out on Saturday:
Flight 22 2019 Guard EJ Bethea: Throughout the games that we got to see him play, he scored the ball at a nice level from the wing spots. When he attacked the basket he showed that he could finish through contact as well as drawing fouls to get to the line at a nice rate.
UBA Elite 2021 Guard Traquan Scott: He had an off shooting day but you could tell that he is a player that can shoot the ball from deep well. His lack of hesitancy to pull up for the deep shot as well a quick shooting release, opened our eyes to how quickly he can get his shot off regardless of defenders.
Flight 22 2019 Adrian Elliot: When know that he can score the ball at a high rate but during this event he played more of the facilitator role by getting teammates involved. He has nice upper body strength and gets to his spots that he wants at a decent rate.
UBA Elite 2020 Guard Tyshawn Johnson: One of the top players that we got the chance to see throughout the day, he scored the ball at a very nice level and handled pressure well. Regardless of the defensive matchup or scheme that the opposing team ran, he wasn’t slowed down and got where he wanted, just an overall productive day from this youngster.
Flight 22 2018 Wing Shaq Angel: We got the chance to see him at Cape Fear HS a few times this season and one thing is for certain, his ability to play above the rim is his greatest asset. He finishes plays, blocks shots, and is a very nice for teams that want to play in an up-tempo style of offense, he will continue to get better as long as he continues to work hard
