Class of 2019 Debutants (Sixth Tier)
The expansive Class of 2019 rankings contain over 100 college prospects.
Strong junior seasons landed the following Tennessee hoopers in the Class of 2019 top 140.
Junior stars have this final AAU season to justify college scholarships. The lower-numbered rankings suggest highest college success. The entire grouping hovers in the 115-140 range statewide. While all eight found success during high school they all have plenty to prove to college recruiters. Isaiah Johnson is the furthest along as he already holds a DII offer. Page is a surefire scholarship football player. This sixth tier starts with Humboldt High School guard Montrez Ward.
#116 Montrez Ward (–)
Humboldt’s Montrez Ward bandies about the deck with quality explosion. For point guards speed, or the absence of it, is critical. Ward has the powerful legs to make speedy basketball happen.
#117 Isaiah Johnson (Tennessee Tigers)
Both DIII and NAIA schools are surrounding Cleveland High School guard Isaiah Johnson. Further, Isaiah netted an early DII University of Montavello offer.
#119 DeShawn Page (–)
Fulton’s starting forward, DeShawn Page is another undersized big with incredible pursuit of the basketball. With his football physique, Page might go further in another sport. Regardless, Fulton advanced to the Class AA Title Game on Page’s formidable back. His grit on the glass stopped numerous rebounders from second chance opportunities.
#131 Kameron Collier (–)
Big and burly, Kameron Collier plays the part of power forward for Tipton-Rosemark. Recruiters can see Collier play wide receiver in the fall. At 6-foot-6 Collier is, at the very least, an imposing high school post defender.
#134 Anthony Watkins (Chattanooga Elite Navy)
McCallie was unable to get Anthony Watkins on the floor much in 2017-2018. A natural wing, Watkins can knock down the mid-range on occasion.
#135 Darian Burns (–)
Dickson County’s Cougars improved dramatically as the high school season wore on. Burns found ways to score in tight.
#136 Tyus White (Wildboyz/NYBA)
LEAD Academy (Nashville) dominated many winter nights with Tyus White scoring big. White’s 13.9 ppg, 4.3 rpg and 3.5 apg pushed LEAD Academy to 25 wins.
#137 Brady Brown (–)
Brady Brown provided the 2 in Summertown’s 1-2 punch. Together with Trey Trotter, the scoring duo managed 24 wins in 2017-2018. Brady averaged 12.6 ppg and 5.8 rebounds per as a junior scoring guard.
