Championship Sports 2019 Victorious At Up North Challenge
RECAP
The Up North Challenge has become a well recognized event here in Michigan. Being crowned a champion at this event is certainly a big deal. Championship Sports 2019 traveled to Shepherd, MI in search of the prestigious title. They ended the Up North Challenge with a 4-0 record and won the 17u championship.
Game 1: Championship Sports Vs West Michigan Lakers – Purple
Championship Sports 2019 won by a final score of 62-38. It was only a 1 pt game at halftime. In the second half Championship Sports turned the defense up a notch. There was a lot of pressure, by Jack Morse in particular. Championship Sports used a balanced scoring attack in the 2nd half to pull away.
Game 2: Championship Sports vs MBA – Hammer
Championship Sports 2019 picked up a hard fought 44-36 win over a game MBA squad. Ty Andrades was the leading scorer with 16 points. Blake Charboneau had an excellent all around game chipping in with 14 points, 4 blocks, and 9 rebounds. While the Championship Sports offense was slowed against MBA, they played a tough team defense that led them to the win.
Game 3: Championship Sports vs GR Storm – Wood
Championship Sports won the highly contested back and forth game by a score of 64-58. Offensively, they used solid and consistent ball movement to create opportunities for every player. Defensively, Nate Flannery led the way late in the game to help seal the win. Isaac Hungerford was the leading scorer with 18 points.
CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
Game 4: Championship Sports Vs Sporting U
Championship Sports used a total team effort on both ends of the floor to win a tight championship game by a score of 50-45. They only surrendered 14 second half points to a tough Sporting U team. Isaac Hungerford led the scoring with 14 points. Blake Charboneau chipped in with 11 points, while Nate Flannery had 9 points.
