Bob Gibbons TOC 2019 Standouts (Georgia)
Eric Coleman (Atlanta Allstars)- Coleman’s recruitment has continued to gain steam and for good reason. He started the weekend hot with a nice performance Friday night. If he begins the game with an active, aggressive mentality, it is difficult to stop him. Coleman is a reliable outside shooter, can handle the ball, and finishes above the rim in traffic. He’ll be watched closely in July.
Jaire Eastmond (Game Elite)- Eastmond is a true PG who brings it every game. He is a great facilitator, getting all of his teammates involved with precise passes, including some impressive lobs. Eastmond’s defensive ability is on display each game, which is something I’ve always loved about him. He has also continued to progress as a shooter, which will really help his recruitment heading into July.
Jaxon Etter (Atlanta Allstars)- Etter was consistent throughout the tournament for the Allstars. He also had an excellent game Friday alongside Coleman and kept it going. Etter shot a high percentage from the perimeter and displayed the toughness that I’m used to seeing from him. He impacted the game in a variety of ways at Bob Gibbons and showed why he’ll be a popular prospect this summer.
Malachi Rhodes (Game Elite)- Efficiency is something that is always present when I watch Rhodes play, and this weekend was no different. He makes the most of each opportunity he gets on offense, finishing at the basket consistently and showing soft touch on mid-range jumpers. Rhodes has an excellent motor, he runs the floor hard and rebounds on both ends. I’m excited to see who jumps in on his recruitment over the next few months.
Luke Chism (Atlanta Allstars)- Chism looks like he has found his groove with this Allstars team; he played with much more confidence this weekend than he did when I saw him in April. Chism has great size for a guard at nearly 6’5”, provides vocal leadership, and does a nice job in transition. He is a high IQ player on both ends and hit some outside shots this weekend as well.
