Biggest Stock Risers from the GASO
Desmon Elliott 2019 Servant Forward
Elliott is a presence in the paint. He works hard in the paint and is not afraid to bang down low. He grabs boards or tips them out to his teammates to grab the board. On the defensive end, he forces the other team to shoot over his size. He also showed an ability to step out and hit shots from downtown. He has a little shake and bake to his game which can help him stretch the floor at the four position. Elliot projects to the NCAA Divison II level.
Drew Tennial 2019 Team Griffin Wing (Pictured)
Tennial brought his hard hat to Dallas going to work at the GASO. There were games where Tennial struggled to shoot the basketball consistently, but he made up for it playing with a super high motor. In the first game, I saw him he had over 5 offensive rebounds, most of those he converted to and ones in the paint. The way Tennial flew around the court not taking plays off was impressive. He did everything he could to make positive impacts on his squad. Tennial should come home with a few offers after the way he played this weekend. Tennial projects to the NCAA Division I level.
Joshua Minney 2020 Tulsa Hawks Guard
Minney plays with a lot of effort. He is always going full speed taking it at his opponent. He gets in his opponent’s chest on the defensive end and forces a lot of turnovers. He plays tough on the defensive end and never lets his man shoot an uncontested shot. On the offensive end, he drives the ball well. He does not always take it to the hoop off the drive. He can kick to the perimeter because of the vision he has. Minney just works hard. It is that plain and simple. At times Minney showed his range as well. Minney projects to the small college level.
Jaxon Robinson 2021 Team Buddy Buckets Wing
Robinson is a lanky Wing. He plays fast and confident. When he has the ball in his hands he is not afraid to take on anyone. He can take over a game with his ability to shoot and drive. Although he is not the strongest, Robinson can finish through contact at the rim. The length of Robinson is used on the defensive end as well. He makes his opponent shoot over him and gets in the passing lanes with his hands. Robinson projects to the NCAA Division I level.
Jett Sternberger 2019 Game Changer Hoops Point Guard
The definition of Gamer might just be Jett Sternberger. There is not a moment on the court where Sternberger is not playing his tail end off. Sternberger has a swagger about his game. He knows he can score at will and is going to make sure the defense knows it. In a day and age where players lose interest in games, it is refreshing to watch the way Sternberger plays. Sternberger projects as the top NCAA Division II prospect out of Oklahoma in the 2019 Class.
