Big Shots Standouts Class of 2021
Team Felton Guard KJ Garrett: He played up to 17U and 16U during this event and he showed why he has a chance to be a special talent. His game and demeanor are both very mature for his age, he makes high IQ plays and doesn’t allow himself to get rushed. Once he checked into the game in their matchup vs WBCA he brought a calmness to the offense which is always impressive from a player that is so young, he’s one to truly put on your watch list if you’re a D1 program.
Team Cobras Guard Kadyn Dawkins: He put up big time numbers all weekend long and is one to keep an eye on for the rest of the summer. His team came up short as they were the second place team in the Gold Championship as he was unable to play due to injury, however overall on the day he did not disappoint, scoring totals of 28, 20, and 22 are all examples of why he has a chance to be special.
Team Felton (Fleming) Jadun Michael: At this young age, he already has nice height at 6’7, he can take advantage of players by using his size to score inside the paint at a good rate. He not only has the ability to score inside but he can also step outside and shoot the deep ball at a pretty consistent rate, shot blocking and rebounding are two areas that he is highly productive as well.
Hill City Crash Jadon Walker: Played well throughout , he plays the game with a high amount of energy and enthusiasm which helped his team in a nice way. He can knock down shots from three point land with nice consistency, has good footwork and doesn’t try to overdo anything, solid overall performer.
Team Felton Guard Ty Lyles: Took home bracket MVP honors, he is a strong guard that can score the ball at a very high level with his jumpshot from midrange and three point land being very effective. He causes problems for his defender not only with his strength but also with his impressive ball handling skills and counter moves.
NC Coastal Elite Guard Ean Jones: Does a nice job of getting to his spots, he doesn’t force things but has the ability to score at a nice rate. What impressed me the most was how well he used his IQ to find ways to score the ball off screens, he kept his head up and did a good job of determining the best way to attack.
