Arch Elite Showcase (Class of 2020 Wings)
Here is a look at some of the top Class of 2020 wings from last weekend’s Arch Elite Showcase in St. Louis:
Sofara Rasas 6’4″ Arsenal Hoops 17U: I was most impressed with the play of this athletic young wing from St. Mary’s as he played up at 17U. He displayed good slashing ability in the halfcourt and in transition. He was an excellent finisher going to the basket and he displayed a nice stroke from 3-point range. He was active and his motor was running well throughout the weekend.
Xavier Drummond 6’4″ Arsenal Hoops: An athletic and hard-working wing player from Parkway North was was very impressive in the two games that I watched him play. What was most impressive was hit 3-point shooting, which has been a big addition to his game. He made five 3-pointers in his first game. He still enjoys driving to the basket and competing on defense and for rebounds.
Samuel Bledsoe 6’2″ Semo Bulls: One of the best perimeter shooters that I watched during the weekend, the Charleston High sniper scored more than 20 points on a couple of occasions. Not only did he display deep shooting range, but he also had a quick release. He moves well without the ball to get himself open
Hunter Chestnut-Perry 6’2″ T.E.M. Select: Young wing player from Clayton High who was constantly attacking the rim off the dribble and getting good results. He did most of his damage going left and getting to the basket. It didn’t matter if the other team knew what he was going to do, he got to the basket and got buckets anyway.
Carson Parker 6’4″ Illinois Bears: A very solid wing player who knows how to play. The lefty can really shoot the basketball from 3-point range and he displayed it throughout the weekend. He also showed the ability to put it on the floor and get to the basket and get buckets.
