Arch Elite Showcase (Class of 2020 Point/Combo Guards)
Here is a look at some of the top Class of 2020 point/combo guards from last weekend’s Arch Elite Showcase in St. Louis:
Ray’Sean Taylor 6’1″ Gateway (IL): This talented point guard from Collinsville, IL can really get it done is all aspects of the game. Led his team to the 16U championship with his quickness, skills and overall floor leadership. He is a tremendous ball handler who can get wherever he wants to go on the court. He can get in the lane and score at the rim and on a variety of floaters and short jumpers. Has the ability to make everyone else around him better.
Tyrus Reddin 5’8″ SEMO Bulls: A very athletic point guard from Cape Girardeau Central who is small, but he plays much better than his actual size. He is very explosive and it shows when he gets in the lane of the dribble to finish at the rim over bigger players. He can also knock down a mid-range jumper on a consistent basis where he gets very good elevation. He also gets down in a stance and plays excellent defense.
Adam Sommer 6’3″ Gateway Basketball Club: A big strong combo guard from Parkway South who plays well at either backcourt position. He can take on the ball handling duties where he can use his body to ward off opposing defenders. He knocked down a number of jumpers off the high screen and also delivered some nice passes to his bigs inside.
Kyle Geraghty 6’0″ Arsenal Hoops: A nice young point guard from Parkway West who plays the game with a lot of savvy, especially when it comes to ball handling and passing the ball. He did a good job of getting into the lane and getting to his spots on the floor to make plays. He is a pass-first point guard with good shooting ability.
Isaac Spears 6’4″ Gateway Basketball Club: A smooth combo guard from Hazelwood East with good size and an overall skill set. He is a good perimeter shooter with 3-point range, but when the shot is not falling, he has the ability to get in the lane and finish with his size. He has good handles and he plays with poise.
Dayton Turner 5’8″ T.E.M. Select: A spunky little point guard from St. Clair who plays the game with a lot of pace at energy at all times. He is always looking to attack and probe in a very aggressive manner. He doesn’t mind driving into the land of the trees. Very fearless. He can finish well with floaters and short jumpers.
