Here is a look at some of the top Class of 2019 point/combo guards from last weekend’s Arch Elite Showcase in St. Louis:

Tayari Goodwin 5’10” Arsenal Hoops 17U: He’s small and kind of slight, but the Parkway North standout is very skilled and a tough competitor. He doesn’t mind getting in the lane to go up against the trees. He finished with some nice floaters during the weekend. He’s quick and has excellent handles. He compliments his speed and quickness with his good shooting ability from 3-point range.

Damien Loyd 5’10” Gateway Basketball Club 17U: One of the most improved players during the high school season at Kirkwood, Loyd is a pass-first point guard who can also get buckets when he has to. He’s gotten physically stronger in the past year and his body shows that he has spent time in the weight room. It enables him to play through contact on his way to the basket. He can also stop and pop from the middle area and knock down a 3-pointer.

Bryce Bultman 6’5″ Illinois Bears 17U: A very impressive big point guard who plays the game with a lot of poise and savvy with the basketball. His combination of size and court vision make him a premier passing threat. He knows teammates are open before they know they are open. He can get to the basket and finish around the rim with a variety of moves, plus he can knock down a jumper. A standout player at Nashville, IL.

Trent Champagne 6’3″ T.E.M. Select 17U: Another nice combo guard who has good size and can operate at any position on the perimeter. What I really like is his stop and pop jumper from 15 feet, which is cash money. He can go at full speed and stop on the dime and knock it down with regularity.
