As you have already have heard by now, Trinity Christian Wing Joey Baker has reclassed up and will be a part of the 2018 recruiting class for Duke University. The 6’7 Wing has been playing varsity basketball since the 8th grade and has taken home 2 state championships as well as a host of other awards.
Trinity Christian Forward Greg Gantt continues to blow up recruiting wise as he picked up offers from NC State, Texas and Virginia over the past few days. Gantt has seen his stock rise in a major way and is one of the more versatile players in the state, he can be classified as what we would call a point forward.
Jacksonville HS Guard Nijear Singleton has verbally committed to NEO, Singleton had an impressive year for the Cardinals averaging over 20 PPG and has a high amount of untapped potential.
James Kennan HS Forward Jareem Lovette is headed to Howard Community College, we feel like this a very good move for him as he will get the opportunity to lock in as well as being closer to family. With a tall but lean frame, we can see the potential he has and what could possibly happen if he continues to develop.
Westover HS Forward Jalin Thorne has committed to Butler Community College in Kansas, Thorne had a solid career at Westover and it will be interesting to see how things play out for him. He’s 6’8 with a nice skillset overall, he can bang inside but also has the ability to step out and shoot the deep ball.
Hoke County Guard Jaleel Ray has committed to Fayetteville Tech Community College, throughout the season we got a chance to see him play and was impressed with the things he did. He was the most productive in catch and shoot situations which he should get plenty of opportunities with at the next level.
Winston Salem Prep Guard Corey Rutherford will remain at home as he gave a pledge to the WSSU Rams on Tuesday. His ability to knock down the deep ball is one of the attributes that you will notice about him almost immediately, he should be able to come in and have solid production early on.
