2020 Stock Risers: Forwards
The spring session of AAU is over for most and with Memorial Day Weekend wrapping up, we are set to take a look back at those that have improved their stock. Today, we have our look at the top 2020 forwards who improved their stock.
Charlie Peterson – 6’8 / PF / 2020 / North Central (IN) / EG10 2020
Peterson is a guy we weren’t sure what to expect but he’s been really surprising this Spring. A stretch forward that has the frame you want to see and has been doing well balancing that inside-out ability. He’s not afraid to play inside and that is key for those types of players. A little more production could take him to another level.
Jylen Petty – 6’5 / PF / 2020 / South Bend Washington (IN) / EG10 2020
Petty is a big, long forward that looks like he could become one of the more coveted players in the class if some of the raw skill develops. He’s effective in spurts but what he can do and who he can defend looks so much more appealing than a year ago. The ability to switch on anything and rebound will really help once he finds more ways to score the ball.
Cleevas Craig – 6’7 / C / 2020 / Fort Wayne Concordia (IN) / UA Grind 2020
Craig is another player that has changed our perception a bunch this Spring. He’s so much more effective but at the same time, he’s still got a long way to go. Puts himself in position to make plays and protect the rim. If his hands become better, he’s got another level he can get to quickly.
Noah Hupmann – 6’10 / C / 2020 / Evansville Day (IN) / DistinXion 2020 Black
Noah has been an interesting player to watch. Still very raw and a little awkward as he is trying to keep up with his growing frame. However, he’s becoming more effective as a scorer and rebounder. Strong hands and good instincts are helping him make plays. Needs a ton of added weight and strength but should come once he stops growing.
Jeff Hemmelgarn – 6’7 / C / 2020 / Penn (IN) / MBA Select 2020
Jeff is a guy that has just found his niche. He’s not a stretch forward and not a high level talent, but has proven he can just make plays each and every game. Much more versatile and skilled than you would think and a guy that you can count on, and that stuff matters more than you think.
