2018 College Commitments: DI Colleges
The class of 2018 is finishing up here with really only a few names left out in the open but with the vast majority of the class already committed, we decided to take a look back at each level and those committed to see how the class has shaken out.

Breakdown: So far, 19 players in the class of 2018 have committed to DI schools. A lower number than usually but still a strong class at the top and with the in-state schools taking a good chunk of them. Along with that, there are three players that are attending DI schools as walk-on players in Rylen Grundy, Will Alcock, and Langston Stallings.
At the top of the class, Robert Phinisee, Damezi Anderson, Romeo Langford, and Eric Hunter Jr. are all committed to either Purdue or Indiana. We also have Jarron Coleman (Ball State), DeAvion Washington (ISU), and Jack Hansen (IUPUI) staying home as well.
Some other things of note is that Miami (OH) picked up two key commitments in Mekhi Lairy and Myja White. Expect them to be a constant contender in the state with their coaching staff and ties to the area. Also, this might have been one of the more condensed classes when looking at location. Those that went out of state, not many at all and quite a few were in neighboring states. Only Robin Duncan (Vermont), Cobie Dillard (Jackson State), Walter Ellis (Bucknell), Kevin Easley (Chattanooga), Anthony Hopkins, and Jamal Harris (New Orleans) are the only ones outside of the Midwest.
Overall, this is a small class but with Indiana and Purdue loading up on most of the best players in the class, it should help draw some of that rivalry back into the state. There are some big playmakers going to some teams as well and don’t be shocked if guys like Eric Hunter, DeAvion Washington, Mekhi Lairy, and Romeo Langford change the game for some of their teams.
