10 More Prospects from Bob Gibbons TOC
10 more prospects that stood out at Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions this past weekend at Suwanee Sports Academy.
Team Charlotte
Chico Carter did not start out strong in Team Charlotte’s first game. Jeff McInnis was all over him in the first half. Carter responded to the toughness and made plays in the second half. I like to see that. Handle the adversity and take care of business
Team South Carolina
6’5 Chase Claxton of Team SC has an ability to block/alter shots at his size that is hard to find. Plays so much bigger than his 6’5 frame. Showed he can knock down the mid-range jumper.
Really like the competitiveness Russell Jones brings for Team SC. With new head coach Ty Baumgardner at Westwood he will flourish. He knows a thing a two about “small guards”. Had Reggie Arceneaux who had a great career at Wright State.
E1T1
Impressed with 6’6, wing Zach Anderson of E1T1. Athlete, slasher, High-Riser, long, Almost through down a dunk that would have sent the gym into a frenzy.
Nike Elite Stars
Austin Harvell-Shot the ball very well, finished in transition, really good court vision, strong upper body, ability to create off the dribble. Has offers from Alabama, Kansas St, Auburn, Ole Miss, Samford & North Alabama . Interest from Georgia , Florida, LSU, Miss St, Murray St, Rice & Minnesota.
Tommy Murr-Skilled; high basketball; scorer; had 38 points in game I watched; strong ability to draw fouls and get opposing guards in foul trouble; does a god job of passing with either hand; crafty; averaged 25ppg over 4 games at Gibbons. Interests:Belmont, Stephen F Austin, Wofford, Liberty, Samford, North Alabama, Mercer, Eastern Illinois, Wright St, Lipscomb & Campbell.
Georgia Kings
Matavais Burton-Really strong finisher; either hand; crafty passer when he gets into the lane; draws the defense in on him just in time to hit the right pass; quick; athletic build; can create off the dribble and makes things happen for others.
Atlanta XPress
Anthony Edwards-Big guard; ready physically; really good shooter; has high-Level ability to score off the dribble; very impressive over the weekend; scored 29 in game I saw; natural ability to score; wants to take the last shot; does a really good job of creating space to get his shot off.
Game Elite Florida
2020 big man Walker Kessler of Game Elite Gold-7’0; long; soft touch around rim; good footwork; runs the floor well; rebounds; keeps ball high, gets in right defensive position every time down floor.
Game Elite FL guard Naseem Khalid is a physically strong guard; hard to stop; gets where he wants on the floor with the ball; beefy; unassumingly athletic.
