USBA Spring Tip-Off Standout Players
LBA Thunder Junior Forward Jaylen Moore: A player that is more than comfortable with playing his role on the squad, he is a worker inside that puts the time and effort into rebounding and defending. Offensively he can bang inside but also has shown the ability to step outside the paint and knock down shots.
Dunn Wildcats Senior Shiquan Moore: Throoughout the season we got the chance to see him impact games at a high level and this tournament was no different. He’s a double/double threat just about any time he steps on the floor and works hard on both ends of the court, he’s undersized for a post player but makes up for it with his strength and the amount of energy he plays with.
Moore County Cavs Freshman Ahmad Jones: Although he can score the ball at a solid rate, he doesn’t simply just look to score, he gets others involved and impacts the game in various ways which includes his passing. There was quite a few plays that we saw where he could have kept the ball and looked for his own shot but instead he found a teammate to make an easier play.
Moore County Cavs Freshman Guard Jayquain McCain: Very impressive performance from this young man, he put on an absolute show for his team and was one of the main reasons why they won by such a wide margin. On the defensive end of the floor he gets after it, using his quick hands and lateral quickness, he comes up with a good amount of steals and pushes the ball in transition for easy buckets.
More County Cavs Sophomore Wing Jalen Eberhart: His impact on the game was made inside the paint with his ability to slash to the basket, he has a frame that can embrace contact well and he plays with a toughness that you like to see from a youngster.
Dunn Wildcats Freshman Guard Jaden Corey: He’s still finding his way on the court but overall he showed some flashes of how good he can be. His ballhandling skills were solid and he understands how to get to his spots by using his length and speed
