The Junior All State Team (ND)
There are good prospects in North Dakota’s junior class, but what junior consistently played at a high level this year pushing their team to success? PHD gives you our 20.
First Team
Ben Bohl of Bishop Ryan. One of the state’s best juniors led his squad to the state runner-up as a 25-3 record putting up 20 points, 7.5 boards, and three assists a game.
Dalton Albrecht of Grafton. Grafton won 20 games this year with Dalton putting together a double-double average of 20 points and 10 rebounds a game on a top team in state.
Luke Lennon, West Fargo. At 14.5 points and 11.6 rebounds a game Luke may be one of the more under appreciated players in North Dakota. Those numbers are rare and among the leaders of the EDC.
Christian Kuntz, WF Sheyenne. Kuntz scored 18.1 points per game. Kuntz had the highest assist per game average in the EDC plus made 40 percent of his threes and over half his field goals as a guard.
Braeton Motschenbacher, Fargo Davies. Braeton stood out on a balanced team scoring nearly 17 a game shooting 44 percent from the arc and making 80 plus percent of his foul shots.
Second Team
Trapper Jacobs, Turtle Lake-Mercer/McClusky. Jacobs scored 24.2 points per game this year with four rebounds and three assists a contest.
Macauley Young of Shiloh Christian. 16 points and 12 rebounds a game for a state tournament team against the toughest schedule in the state.
Mason Walters, Jamestown. A top four scorer in the WDA at 16.3 points per game, a top three rebounder grabbing over eight a contest and one of the top two shot blockers on his side of the state. Not to mention Walters played a key role in the Jays making state.
Trey Mattern, Bismarck Century. Mattern scored a dozen a game for the state champs, was a top ten assist guy in Class A, and handled a lot of the ball pressure and handling duties.
Joe Jahner, Bismarck. Joe led Bismarck in scoring at 12.3 points per game and was third on the team in rebounds with 4.5 a contest.
Third Team
Jaden Klabo of Fargo Davies. Klabo put up 13 points and 4.5 rebounds a game for the balanced Davies team.
Cadyn Schwabe of Thompson. Cadyn averaged 15.4 points and five assists per game with a couple steals on a 19-5 team.
Tyrell Rodriguez of Oak Grove. Rodriguez put up 15 points and 7.5 rebounds a game for a 20-3 team in state.
Isaac Undlin of Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood. Isaac was at times one of the most explosive scoring threats putting up massive numbers in short times.
Julian Parisien, Belcourt, Julian scored 24 points a game this winter shooting over 40 percenta the arc plus he led the team in assists and rebounds.
Fourth Team
Kiir Mabor, Fargo South. Scored 15 points a game, led his team in steals, and was third in rebounding plus he made nearly half of the shots he took each game.
Chance Bye of Enderlin. Chance scored 21 points per game for Enderlin shooting 41 percent form the arc.
Hayden Overby of Thompson. Hayden put up 13.5 points and 9.2 rebounds a game for a 19-5 team.
Seth Hetzel of Stanley. Hetzel scored 14 points per game for a team that was ranked among the best all season.
Mason Hedberg of Bishop Ryan. Mason was often not the “second option” as he scored 17 a game for a team that finished as the state runner-up.
