Saturday Standouts: Part 2
Jesus Peace 17U Guard Christian Locklear: Overall he had one of the better showings of all the players that we watched, he understands how to use his speed to get where he wants on the court with ease. As the games went on, he showed that he has the ability to knock down the trey ball from deeper than college range.
Jesus Peace 17U Forward Kasual Maxwell: At 6’3 with long arms and solid athletic ability, he makes an impact on the game using those attributes for the most part. One play in particular was a block in the first half where he met his opponent at the backboard for a bigtime block.
Carolina Dreamchasers Forward Ben Strengun: He still is learning how to play the game but has nice upside and is one to keep an eye. He runs the floor, blocks shots, plays with a high motor and doesn’t take any plays off, if he continues to work hard he could develop into a solid player.
NC Panthers 2019 Guard DJ McCollum: He didn’t have his best day scoring wise but the potential he has to be good is clear if he stays locked in. At about 6’2-6’3 with long arms , you can see why we are intrigued with how good he can possibly be if he continues to work.
NC Hoops Dreams 2020 Guard Connor West: If you don’t put a hand up before he gets a shot up then you’re going to be in deep trouble as he is what we would call three point specialist. What you have to like the most about his game is that he doesn’t try to do more than he’s comfortable with, he plays his role to the best of his ability and does what the team needs him to do.
Fayetteville Bulldogs 2018 Wing Mason Fullers: A solid is what we got from him, he’s a player we hadn’t see yet but he played well enough to grab our attention early. He grabbed rebounds at a nice rate, came up with some deflections and just gave a high amount of effort, you have to like what he brings your team from an effort perspective.
