Recruiting Report: Traevon Brown (2019)
West Aurora 2019 point guard Traevon Brown is one to watch this spring for the Illinois Stars 17U. The long and angular point guard used to be just a pure athlete that relied on that to be successful. Now the skill is starting to come along to match. His jump shot is quickly becoming a plus weapon from deep. Pushes it in the open floor and has the vision to find others. Low-majors should watch this spring.
How was his high school season?
“My junior went good. I emphasized getting smarter and playing the pick and roll better. My range on my three point shot has went up way more.”
He spoke about the growth in his perimeter shot.
“I have been putting up lots and lots of shots. Me and my coach talked about my shot a lot this year and it helped me excel.”
Brown broke down what he feels he brings to the table as a prospect.
“My strength are my range, ball handling, decision making with the ball. Making those around me better.”
What is going on with recruiting?
“Recruiting wise I have a couple coaches talking to me. Western Illinois texted me. Quincy emailed me. Miami (OH) and Jacksonville have sent me mail. Tulsa has been texting my dad.”
