Recruiting Report: Nick Hoyt (2019)
Harrisburg’s rise to success the last few years has been one of the better stories to follow. Now guard Nick Hoyt will take the program into the future.
“Things went really well as we accomplished a lot of our goals winning the ESD and making it to the State championship,” said Hoyt.
Harrisburg went 19-5 this season and played for a title. They earned second place but they accomplished something big, they changed the culture of their basketball program.
“Another goal was to create a winning culture in the program and I think our senior and junior class did that this year,” Nick said.
Hoyt earned all conference honors and was the leading scorer on a balanced Harrisburg team. Nick also became a better player off the bounce and became a more mature player.
“I’m developing into a better leader and continuing to work on creating my own shot off the dribble or getting to the rim,” Nick said.
Hoyt is now getting ready for his final AAU year, “I’m playing with BBA 17u, we are a pretty balanced team with a lot of guys that can shoot it well” said Hoyt.
Six programs are in contact with Nick Hoyt about playing college basketball.
“I’m hearing from Northwestern, Briar Cliff, Morningside, Mount Marty, and Dakota Wesleyan. Dakota State too.”
