Recruiting Report: Malik Lamin (2019)
Malik Lamin was the DeLaSalle leading shot blocker this year and is one of Minnesota’s top 2019 center prospects. NHR talked with Malik today.
The Islanders went 26-5 and finished third in the state which is of course a very solid season. But of course the Islanders had won six straight state titles and were going for seven so anything less than a title is short of what they wanted.
“The season didn’t end the way we would have like it to have ended, but we can only learn and get better from it,” Malik said. “I feel I got a better natural feel for post moves. I also feel that I’m more of a better offensive rebounder than other years playing.”
Now that Lamin has improved his post game and is rebounding more actively he’s ready for the summer circuit with his 17u team.
“The spring and summer time I will be playing for Team Sizzle on the Under Amour Circuit,” Lamin said.
Malik then ran through a solid list of schools that have been in contact with him about his college basketball future.
“Right now the colleges talking to me the most is Denver, Miami of Ohio, Air Force, and Wisconsin. Other colleges said they like my game.”
