Recruiting Report: Joshua Colon (2019)
Joshua Colon was an integral part of Windermere’s success in its first season as a program.
The 6’0″, 170-pounder helped the Wolverines finish 16-9 in Class 8A-District 5.
The 2019 guard says his junior campaign was great.
“I loved every part of it, took a huge leadership role along with couple other teammates. Playing for a new school had its perks, new program, new beginnings and getting the opportunity to shock a lot of people,” Colon said. “Playing under Coach [Mark] Griseck is a blessing, for sure one of the best coaches if not the best coach I’ve had. The biggest thing he’s taught me is just to always make the game simple.”
No offers have come yet for Colon, but he’s drawn interest from Tiffin and Florida Southern.
He’s playing this summer for Heart and Hustle on the Adidas Gauntlet under coach Caio Santos.
On top of his basketball life, Colon plays football track and field. He says the two sports help him get a different perspective on how to get more athletic.
He plans to pursue basketball or track and field in college.
Colon is a sound passer and floor leader for Windermere. He pushes the ball in tempo well and certainly communicates often throughout games. He’s a high energy player.
