Recruiting Report: Jarrett Hensley (2019)
One of the most talented, up-and-coming prospects in the 2019 class, Shawnee Mission North forward Jarrett Hensley is looking to take his game to new heights this offseason with MoKan Elite’s 17U squad.
At 6’7, Hensley brings athleticism and versatility to the floor. He’s capable of scoring from all over the court, can shoot from the outside or put the ball on the floor, can throw down emphatic dunks or protect the basket as a shot blocker.
He says his most recent season at Shawnee Mission North didn’t go quite as expected as the Indians and finished 10-11 overall.
“We have a lot of work to do,” Hensley said. “My role with the team was a leader because I feel like everyone looks up to me a lot.
“I feel like my stats were good, but I know they could’ve been a lot better and I’m not satisfied with them.”
To that end, Hensley has joined MoKan Elite and is looking forward to playing on a national stage this offseason.
“It was a great choice for me and I’m learning a lot,” he says. “At the end of the day, I want to be a great player and I feel like this team can help me do that.
“I like how competitive it is and how good all the player are because it pushes me everyday and that’s what I’ve wanted.”
Hensley says he is focused on improving his body this offseason, getting stronger, and also working on his ball handling.
“I’m not satisfied with any area of my game yet and I’m working everyday to improve it,” he says.
Hensley has drawn significant interest from Creighton but says his recruiting is still in its early stages.
