Recruiting Report: Jaheim Holden (2019)
Evanston 2019 point guard Jaheim Holden is a small lefty point guard is just so quick and shifty with the rock. He finds creases in the defense to get through them. A lot of his points come in transition and often off the steals that he creates with his pesky defense. Possible D2 prospect with a strong summer. He helped lead his team to the state final four in Peoria in March.
Holden talked about that run to the 4A Final Four.
“It was really successful as we finished third in the state. It was a really good year for us. Nobody expected us to go that far. We proved a lot of people wrong. My season individually I feel like I have grown since sophomore year being less selfish with the ball and more mature. Just leading my team. Learning from Nojel (Eastern) last year. It really helped me develop a sense of maturity to make it that far.”
What is going on with recruiting?
“I have a couple schools calling me. I know some schools are going to come out to watch me. Kent State, UC Santa Clara, and Miami (OH).”
What will he bring to a team at the next level?
“I think I can bring quickness. One thing I would like to improve on is less turnovers. Being more explosive.”
